Diary of a Wimpy Kid:The Long Haul - The Movie
I know this is meant to be a book review blog but i watched this movie a few days ago so i had to do a post on this.
I have watched all the previous Diary of A Wimpy Kid films, so it took some getting used to a whole new cast but I guess the original actors are all too old now!
As in a lot of movies based on books they have made quite a few changes to the plot. Here are some:
SPOILER ALERT!
The film makers have included a funny sub plot where Greg becomes famous when a video of him goes viral. This makes Greg sneak away to a gaming convention to try and get cool again, which isn't in the book.
Instead of going on a random road trip they are travelling to Gammie's 90th birthday party, which made more sense than their parents making them go on a random road trip.
There are some small changes around the Beardos and the pig, but the changes were funny and at least there some surprises for the book readers in the audience.
These are the changes I spotted, so try and see if there are any that I missed!
I thought this movie was really funny and the audience when I watched it was laughing loudly all the way through. I would totally recommend going to see it if you haven't yet.
Also, I was really happy when a copy of the movie poster, signed by Jeff Kinney himself turned up in the post thanks to The Week Junior!
