Why I love libraries

Image
It is Libraries Week this week, so I thought I would write about why I think libraries are really good. I use my local library and my school library at least once a week. I read so many books that it would cost a lot of money to buy them all especially when they are a series. This way I can read as much as I want and not pay anything except when I forget to return them!! Our library has a summer reading challenge which is good to make children read books. My brother read 10 books in the summer holidays because he would get a bag of sweets from the library! The library is good for finding books that I would not find otherwise. I have read books that I would not have bought in a shop but they turned out to be really good. In our library I can also go on the computers if I want and the librarians are really friendly. I would be really sad if we did not have our library and I would have to re-read the books I already have.

Who Let The Gods Out : Maz Evans

I picked this book from the library because the blurb at the back said it was about gods and mythology. My favourite subject. The book follows a boy named Elliot who gets accidentally mixed up with the council of the Gods when a member of the zodiac Council (called Virgo) crash lands in cow poo in his back garden. Eliot accidentally lets a daemon loose from Stonehenge and has to join forces with the Gods to set things right. This book is really funny and even though it doesn't teach you much about mythology, it is great to see the Gods come to life with their own characters. The best recommendation that I can give it, is that I had to go out and buy the sequel, Simply The Quest as soon as I finished this book, because I enjoyed it so much. There are no scary bits and it is suitable for younger readers. Copyright: Maz Evans
